About NORMLZ — Pro Audio Normalizer
NORMLZ — Pro Audio Normalizer
by Creator Sounds Pro
NORMLZ is a professional-grade, browser-based audio normalization tool built for music producers, podcasters, sound designers, post-production editors, and content creators who need fast, accurate, and artifact-free loudness control — without installing any software.
Everything runs entirely on your device. No uploads. No servers. No subscriptions. Just drop your files and normalize.
Three Industry-Standard Normalization Methods
True Peak (dBTP) Measures the absolute intersample peak across all channels combined. Essential for preventing digital clipping on DACs, streaming encoders, and lossy format conversions. Set your target (default −1.0 dBTP) and NORMLZ applies the precise gain needed so no sample — including reconstructed intersample peaks at 4× oversampling — exceeds your ceiling. The professional choice for broadcast delivery, mastering, and streaming masters.
RMS / dBFS Measures the average power across all channels over the entire file — not a momentary snapshot. RMS normalization delivers perceptually consistent loudness between tracks, making it ideal for playlist mastering, sample pack production, sound effects libraries, and any workflow where tracks need to feel equally loud at the same volume knob position. Default target: −7.0 dBFS.
LUFS — Integrated Loudness (ITU-R BS.1770-4) The global broadcast and streaming standard. LUFS (Loudness Units Full Scale) measures gated, K-weighted integrated loudness — the same algorithm used by Spotify (−14 LUFS), Apple Music (−16 LUFS), YouTube (−14 LUFS), and broadcast platforms worldwide. NORMLZ implements the full dual-stage K-weighting biquad filter with absolute gate (−70 LKFS) and relative gate (−10 LU) per the ITU-R BS.1770-4 specification. Default target: −10.0 LUFS.
What NORMLZ Measures & Displays (Per File)
For every file you import, NORMLZ instantly analyzes and displays three loudness metrics in the file list:
- dBTP — True Peak level (cumulative peak across all channels, intersample)
- RMS / dBFS — Average power (across all channels, whole-file average, not momentary)
- LUFS — Integrated loudness (BS.1770-4 gated measurement)
Color-coded readouts (green / yellow / orange / red) give you an instant visual health check on each file before you export anything.
Brickwall Limiter for Clip Protection
An optional brickwall true-peak limiter can be engaged before export. After normalization gain is applied, the limiter hard-clips any intersample peak that exceeds your set ceiling (default −0.1 dBTP). This provides a final safety net against accidental overs — critical when normalizing to 0 dBFS targets or when working with heavily processed or transient-rich material.
Precision Lanczos-3 Resampler
When exporting at a different sample rate than the source, NORMLZ uses a Lanczos-3 sinc interpolation resampler — one of the highest-quality algorithms available. Unlike linear or polynomial resamplers, Lanczos-3 applies a windowed sinc filter that:
- Fully preserves the original pitch and duration
- Applies anti-aliasing scaled to the new Nyquist boundary (critical for downsampling)
- Eliminates ringing and pre-ringing artifacts common in lower-quality resamplers
Supported export sample rates: 44.1 kHz · 48 kHz · 96 kHz · Source (no resample)
Full Bit Depth Support
Export in the format your workflow demands:
| Bit Depth | Use Case |
|---|---|
| 16-bit PCM | CD, streaming delivery, final consumer format |
| 24-bit PCM | Professional DAW interchange, archival, broadcast |
| 32-bit Integer | High-headroom mixing and processing chains |
| 32-bit Float | Maximum precision, lossless DAW round-trips |
Batch Processing
Import and process an entire session worth of files in one go. NORMLZ loads, analyzes, and queues all files simultaneously. Use the checkboxes to select individual files for targeted export, or hit Export All to process the entire batch. Each file downloads automatically as a properly named WAV with format details embedded in the filename (e.g. kick_norm_48k_24bit.wav).
Supported Input Formats
WAV · AIFF · MP3 · FLAC · OGG · Opus · M4A · AAC · WMA · CAF
(Any format your browser’s native audio decoder supports)
Privacy & Security
NORMLZ is 100% client-side. Your audio files never leave your device.
System Requirements
NORMLZ runs entirely on your device’s CPU and RAM. Performance scales with file size, channel count, and sample rate. For large batches, high sample rates (96 kHz), or long-form content, a desktop or laptop computer is strongly recommended. Modern mobile devices can handle individual files or small batches with no issues.
